Invitation for competition submissions
Ingo Cesaro (Regionale Kunstförderung Kronach e.V.) announces for the Lucas-Cranach-City Kronach the International Lucas-Cranach-Award 2019/2020.
This invitation is open to all artists, (furthermore to spread the invitation to all art colleges, art societies, galleries…)
Issue: For Lucas Cranach the Elder, woodcarving was important to express himself artistically.
His variety of themes is also to be included in the competition.
Techniques: Woodcarving, wood engraving, woodcutting
Format: Format should not go beyond 50 x 70 cm, these measurements can be exhibited in frames.
Larger works are of course possible, but can’t be exhibited in frames.
Woodblocks can additionally be exhibited.
Every work has to provide the application form on the back (please find enclosed).
Amount: Not more than three works, not older than 5 years can be submitted. According to series of works, three prints are considered to be one submission.
Catalogue: for the planned catalogue we need one digital photograph per work (300 dpi, monochrome or color). Please enclose the cd with your photographs to your application.

Notification: All participants will immediately be informed about the jury’s result.
Exhibition: the exhibition opening is planned to take place on the fortress Rosenberg in Kronach on May, 9th 2020 at 3 p.m. The exhibition can be visited from May, 9th until June, 28th 2020.
Awards: 1. prize 3.000 Euro
2. prize: 2.000 Euro
3. prize: 1.000 Euro
And perhaps a special award
Entry deadline: the prints have to be delivered (by mail or hand) to the townhall in Kronach by February, 29th 2020 at the latest.
Later entries can’t be taken into account.

Mondays 8 a.m.-12 and 2-4 p.m.
Tuesdays: 8 a.m. -12
Wednesdays: 8 a.m.-12 and 2-4 p.m.
Thursdays: 8 a.m.-12 and 2 - 5.30 p.m.
Fridays: 8 a.m. -12.30
The maximum amount assured is 200 Euro per exhibit here in Kronach. The prints are to be insured at your own account for delivery and return transport, the transport costs have to be borne at your own expense.
Disposal: 20% commission must be included into the retail price by the artist.
Collection: After the duration of the exhibition, the artworks have to be collected by the artist. Return transport is only possible by special arrangement.
By applying, the artist accepts the terms and conditions without reserve.
By participating, you also opt for exhibiting your artworks and to picture them in catalogues, posters, invitations etc.
The artists get a free copy of the catalogue.
